Campus Reminders
Arrival
Safety is our top priority so we are asking that parents please do not be on their cell phones during drop off times. This will help all parents be vigilant to their surroundings.
Due to the constant changing of Texas weather, we now have both entrances in the front of the school open for scholars to enter through. We have an adult standing at each door to welcome scholars.

Greetings from the hard-working volunteers of CHCPPTA!
- ANNOUNCING: The Family Reading Challenge! In association with National PTA, CHCPPTA is sponsoring a contest encouraging families to read together. Between 1/18-2/12, you and your scholars have the opportunity to win prizes for reading the most books inspired by a list of reading prompts from National PTA. We are also supporting Diversity In Literature; read more about that here!
- The CHCPPTA January newsletter is now online!
- PLEASE HELP US REPLENISH THE FACULTY & STAFF SNACK PANTRY. It’s that time again, families – we need your help to restock the snack pantry. Please sign up here and drop your donations off at the front office on any Wednesday between Jan 12th – Feb 2nd (7:30am – 2:30pm). You can also send smaller items to school with your scholars on any weekday during this time. Thank you for helping to support our teachers!
READ ACROSS AMERICA SWEEPSTAKES. Please help our scholars win a virtual visit with an author who wrote one of the books from the Read Across America calendar by completing and submitting a brief online form. It takes less than 1 minute!
Here’s How: Starting Mon, Jan 10th just click here, scroll down to the section marked, “Enter the 2022 Read Across America Sweepstakes” and input your contact information. Only one entry is allowed per person—but the more people who submit from our school, the more likely we are to win! Share this page with friends, family, and colleagues to have them enter. Deadline: Mon, Jan 31st by 4pm central time.
- Please visit us at chcppta.org regularly, and join us on social media: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

The AP Corner: By Mrs. Palmer-McKinney
Greetings Prep Family,
Over the last two weeks, we have been busy completing MAP assessments. We will conclude make-up assessments this week for scholars that were absent last week. Please ensure that your scholars come to school on time with their district Chromebook, charged and ready. Our educators are looking forward to diving deep into the assessment data and developing solid support for our scholars' learning goals. We look forward to your collaboration and partnership.
