Locust Trace FFA Shines at National Convention
National Chapter Rating Contest
The highest rating an FFA chapter can receive on the National level is a 3-star rating; based on the work of the chapter this past year, LTAC FFA was named a 3-Star Chapter! Only 9 chapters in Kentucky received this honor.
Model of Innovation Award
Chapters plan events and programs in three areas: growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. After chapters receive their national ratings, a top ten list is chosen in each category and are named Model of Innovation Premier Chapters.
LTAC FFA was named a Model of Innovation Premier Chapter in the area of strengthening agriculture for the Vet Assistant Program's event Barktemberfest (2016).
To be recognized as a top ten chapter in the nation is an amazing honor!
Congratulations to the entire LTAC team!
A special thank you to the students and advisors who make success a reality!

Establishing a new chapter in the Legacy Equine Academy
Ron Mack, Executive Director for the Legacy Equine Academy (LEA), in conjunction with Bryan Station Middle School Principal Robin Kirby and chapter leader, Andrea Kirby, met for the first time with approximately 30 students to kick off the newly-formed chapter.
Locust Trace and the LEA are partners in creating a "pipeline" for students to pursue careers in the equine industry.
LEA also has active middle school chapters at EJ Hayes and Winburn. Other chapters to be piloted this year include Leestown Middle, Lexington Traditional Magnet School, Tates Creek Middle and Crawford Middle.
