Mrs. Pittman's 5th Grade News
January 29, 2016
January has come and gone!!!
We have been busy as we have worked through another month in our school year! Hard to believe!! The main focus this month has been on writing skills and styles and on novel studies. If you have not checked in with your child about what book we are reading as a class, please do! They are loving Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis. We are doing many activities as we work through this fantastic novel! In math we have had a great time learning about the hierarchy of Polygons! We just tested today on World War 1 and will move right into the Great Depression beginning next week. In Science, we have enjoyed learning about the Earth's Surface. we will test on this unit next week.
Thanks for all you do as parents to support your child and our classroom! Have a great weekend! The weather is supposed to be WONDERFUL- get outside and enjoy!
