Elementary Spring Concert - Thursday, May 5th

The end of the year concert is upon us. If your child would like, they can dress up . A note was sent home earlier this week regarding what to wear. (Remember, it's not required!)

Please drop them off in our classroom by 6:45.

Please make sure to turn in the zoo permission slips/lunch choices!

Reading and Writing

In reading this week, we've been reviewing how to clap out syllables (a lot forgot!). We have also been playing Whizzle Phonics that has the kids sounding out words (CVC, long vowel, silent e words, and blends).

We started PALS testing this week and have finished it! YAYYYY!

During writing, the kids have been hard at work doing the best finger spaces, lowercase letters throughout, and not missing sounds.

This week has been a fairly easy review of squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles. They learned a new word for the corners of shapes - vertices.

I've introduced the hexagon again. That's been the trickiest one for the kids to remember!

Animals: 2 X 2

The kids got to compare guppies and goldfish, nightcrawlers and redworms, and sow and pill bugs.

National Agriculture Week

We took a quick visit to Randolph High School to check out the animals and greenhouse. The kids had a blast looking at and holding the animals!

Check out the photo album on our website to see pictures from this visit and our science unit this week.
