Looking Back / Ahead
~ Hawley Housekeeping: March 11, 2018 ~
Wow! I hope that you all are warm, safe and with power. You'll sense a recurring theme in the memo of: Let us think, discuss, reschedule and get back to you as soon as possible ;0)
Many things will now feel rushed, urgent, condensed, and crazy (with Early Dismissals and Data Teams and Professional Development and Spirit Days and Parent Conferences and, and, and).
~ Just Breathe and do one thing at a time. ~
~ Let me know if I can help or if you need anything. ~
Looking Ahead
- The Book Fair visit/wish list will be Monday. We will send out a schedule as soon as possible. Those with Library on Monday, we will reschedule your shopping day and let you know as soon as possible.
- Data Team Meeting: schedule communicated via separate email and Bulletin.
- Wed-Fri: Early Dismissals (Wed PD starts at 2:30 as previously shared/Thurs & Fri are Parent Teacher Conferences. I need schedules MONDAY (as we have been out)
Important Reminders / General Info
- I am out of the building Monday and Friday mornings through 10:30 AM.
- Read Across America & Spirit Days: My suggestion is Monday be a regular day just to get back into routine. We will then have conversations, get everyone on the same page and let everyone know as soon as possible when we are doing what.
- I have closed all mid-year conferences in EdReflect. Please go and sign off.
- PTA BINGO Night is Tues, April 3, 6:30-8:00. If this is an event that you feel that you can attend and would like to help out, please click here to sign up. Thank you for your consideration.
- Sue DaPra has created, and will update, a one sheet Google Doc that links to every Looking Back/Looking Ahead Memo by date (like this one, 3/11/18 ;0). Click here for the document. Thank you Sue.
Faculty Meeting (Lock IN Debriefing)
With recent events around the country as well as our unexpected Lock In, questions have been raised. I have met with ERT and Leadership, and have information to share.
- Everyone can review the Talking Points by clicking here.
- I believe it is important that EVERYONE takes the time to review this document.
- THIS Tuesday at the Faculty Meeting, I will briefly review it and take some questions. Although I cannot compensate classified staff, ANYONE that wishes to attend this meeting is welcome to do so. We meet in the library, 8:00 AM.
- Anyone that wishes to meet with me privately is also welcome to do so.
Progress Reports
As you are working on Progress Reports, keep the following in mind:
- Visible on the ParentPortal on 3/14 (THIS Wed)
- Conferences 3/15-3/16 (send Donna schedule ASAP)
IMPORTANT:
- With the days off, not all progress reports were able to get to me. Some did (early birds or coming in to print Friday).
- With Jenna's help, we will do our best to read as many as we can. I am not able to guarantee that they will get the attention and scrutiny that they usually get.
- You need to really review them closely and have others check as well. You're the one that it reflects negatively upon if there are errors or harshly worded comments. Let's Shine!
