LFPL-Exciting Summer Reading Program
Summer Reading is almost here and this year features the return of the Super-Readers! Presented by the Library Foundation, this free 10-week program offers prizes and incentives to encourage kids, newborn up to fifth grade, to read for fun over the summer.
School-age children (k-5th grade) who read at least 10 books will receive an official Super-Reader backpack, along with passes to local attractions like the Kentucky Science Center, Squire Boone Caverns, a Bats baseball game, the Frazier History Museum, and more.
Preschool Summer Reading - designed for preschoolers (newborns to pre-k) and their caregivers, participants will read 10 books together and complete 10 early-learning activities, like singing the ABCs, practicing writing with a crayon, or talking about the colors you see. Those who complete the Preschool Program will receive a Super-Reader backpack - complete with cape - and passes to area attractions.
Youth Ministry Will be Hosting a Second Foot-Golf Scramble - 6/11
SPS Families,
In one month, our youth ministry will be hosting a SECOND Foot-Golf Scramble. It'll be held at Bobby Nichols Golf Course (off East Pages Ln) on SUNDAY, June 11th with a shotgun start at 4 pm.
Foot-Golf is a very easy and fun game. It's playing golf, but you're kicking a soccer ball from Tee to Green! Each player provides their own soccer ball, (or we'll have some extras on hand for those who need to borrow one). A shotgun start means everyone will start from a different hole at the same time, so most everyone finishes at the same time.
When we finish, we'll gather back in the Bobby Nichols Clubhouse to turn in your scorecard and enjoy a FREE dinner, awards, and prizes.
Playing a scramble means the best shot is the one the WHOLE team plays. We'll have special tee boxes for youth ages 8 & under, so kids are encouraged to be a part of the team!
You don't want to miss this opportunity for family fun.
- To register a team, please contact Dave Neeson at WordandLifeYM@gmail.com. Costs are only $35/person or $140/team. Registration includes 1 drink ticket, 1 meal ticket, green fees, and a shared cart per team.
Please feel free to share this flyer on social media and help make this event a huge success for our youth ministry program!
Thanks so much!
