An ounce is determined as 1 slice of bread, 1 cup of cereal, or 1/2 cup of noodle, rice, or pasta.

Nutrients in Grains

  • Iron which is used to carry oxygen in your blood
  • Magnesium it is used to build bones and release energy from your muscles
  • Selenium it protects cells from oxidation

Benefits

  1. May reduce the risk of heart disease
  2. May reduce risk if constipation
  3. May help with lose weight
  4. Prevents neural tube defects when pregnant
