Meteor before Galaxy
Robin Kim
What is this?
The Meteor before Galaxy is exactly what it states. This photo of the Andromeda galaxy was interrupted by a sand sized rock from deep space, also known as a meteor. This meteor took only a fraction of a second to pass through this 10-degree field. The meteor also flared multiple times upon entering Earth's atmosphere. The green color was created by the meteor's gas glowing as it vaporized. The orientation of the imaged streak seems to match from the Southern Delta Aquariids, which was a meteor shower that occurred in the past.
