What did the amendment do for the people and how they finally got the right to vote?

The fifteenth amendment allowed african american men the right to vote. Equal rights groups fought for the right, it is an amendment and it stated that federal and state governments can't deny the right to vote based on the citizens' race, color, or previous condition of servitude


How did the people fight for it?

They tried presenting laws that stopped voting restrictions and banned literacy tests, but they both didn't go through

The african american men had to struggle with literacy tests, which most couldn't read or write and they also struggled with poll tax which most of them could pay.
