PLTW Science of Technology Course at WJHS
One of the new features in the corporation is the Design and Innovation Studio that is located in the junior high. The Sci-Tech course is currently learning about the Sphero robots. The Sphero robots utilize block coding and the students have been working on their problem solving skills completing a program that moves their Sphero from a start line through either a tunnel or over a ramp to a finish line. The task involves the student groups to work together and problem solve to make their program a success.
The learning experience has been super engaging and enjoyed by both the teacher and the students!
WHS Earns Early College Endorsement
Sandy Hillman, Director of Early College from the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning at the University of Indianapolis, presented to the school board the endorsement of the College & Career Academy at Washington HS as highly effective in implementing the 8 Core Principles of Early College, and has earned CELL Certification.
