Virginia

Why Here?
Why not here? Virginia was originally settled by the British in 1607. It was the first colony to be settled in the Americas, so its obviously the best. It was considered to be a Southern Colony, so the weather is nice. It was founded to be used for mining, but the colonist soon realized the area was not rich in minerals, but rich in cash crops. The colony's soil soon lead to massive agriculture of cash crops, mainly tobacco. The colony was very rich and traded with the old world. Most of its colonists were rich white Christians. It was an economic center for the 13 original colonies. The settlement of Roanoke, VA failed multiple times, but I promise you if you come now you will be completely safe now that colony is truly on its feet. The founder was john Smith, who later became the governor of Jamestown.
