Villa Education Trust
Opportunities for International Students
A fabulous start to the year for Villa Educatation Trust - its not too late to join us!!
A warm welcome to visitors from Japan
Students and teachers from Toyodaigaku Fuzoku Himeji J.R school in Japan were bid a fond farewell last week after enjoying a visit to Auckland, hosted by staff and students at South Auckland Middle School. The 20 boys and seven girls, aged between 14-15 years, were all 'homestayed' with local families during their two-week long visit. They were welcomed with a traditional Maori Powhiri before being introduced to their 'homestay buddies'. During the weekday mornings they completed ESOL lessons (arranged by the school) before joining their buddies and being integrated into the afternoon classes and activity based programmes. Visits to Auckland University of Technology and the tourist hot spot of Rotorua were also squeezed into their busy programme. Students at South Auckland Middle School were treated to a presentation on Japan and its culture which was both entertaining and educational. A graduation ceremony and traditional Maori Hangi was organised to mark the end of the visit which was enjoyed by all.
At Villa Education Trust we have vast experience working with International agents and students. We welcome visits from students, teachers and agents and can offer numerous study options for both groups and individuals - see below for more details.
LIVE AND LEARN IN AUCKLAND WITH VILLA EDUCATION TRUST
Villa Education Trust offers opportunities for International students at each of its three schools in Auckland. Working to your requirements, we can 'tailor make' a package for long or short term study. Examples include:
Long Term study - students aged between 10-18 years can attend our 'boutique style' school in Newmarket were they study in class sizes no larger than 12. Students have full access to our academic programmes and examination options. Homestay accommodation can be arranged for students (and parents). Currently we have four International students, one from Japan and three from China, studying at Mt Hobson Middle School. A small number of vacancies remain for 2017 for both the Villa NCEA Academy (for years 11-13) and Mt Hobson Middle School, for Years 7-10).
Short term study - students attend Mt Hobson Middle School for a period of time chosen by their parent or agent. Students will be provided with uniform, stationery and a 'homestay family' (if required) and will join an existing class. This is a good 'taster' option to allow children to familiarize themselves with the school, its curriculum and Auckland, or as an option to 'boost' English language skills.
Holiday courses - we offer 'tailor made' packages to groups of International students wishing to study in Auckland short term. These packages can include English lessons, academic programmes, visits to local attractions/entertainment facilities and surrounding areas of interest. Hotels or 'homestay' arrangements can be made for children and their accompanying parents/guardians. These courses can be run from Middle School West Auckland, in Henderson and South Auckland Middle School, in Manurewa.
Exchange and short term visits - groups of students, teachers and parents can visit our schools to experience Auckland life and education for a maximum period of two weeks. In addition to joining daily classes we are able to arrange ESOL lessons, sports coaching and visits to local attractions and places of interest. Homestay accommodation can be arranged (for a maximum group size of 40). Hotel or hostel accommodation can also be arranged.
Teacher exchanges - Throughout the academic year we welcome visits from teachers/education specialists wishing to experience the New Zealand education system. Further details available upon request.
Middle School West Auckland and South Auckland Middle School campuses can also be hired by agencies for use during Term Breaks.
