This Week at Winsor
Spotlight: Spring Into Health Day & 5th Grade Flava
Healthy Students Learn Best
5th Grade Flava
On Tuesday, our Grade 5 students performed 5th Grade Flava for both a school and parent audiences. This interactive program, incorporating dance, music, art, and movement provides our students with a chance to integrate key elements of the curricula as a showcase for the skills students have learned this year. Students practiced for several weeks leading up to this event, highlighting the value of persistence and grit, two key elements of a Growth Mindset, a focal point for students this trimester. Grade 5 students also grappled with the real life skill of performing in front of an audience, something students will be asked to do as they progress up the grade levels. We are so proud of our Grade 5 students; their hard work truly paid off in the form of two amazing shows. Way to go!

School Improvement Update
Our SIT meeting on March 20th will focus on planning efforts for the 2019-2020 school year. It is hard to believe that we are close to entering the spring season and our third trimester. Our trajectory for full implementation of this year's goals remains on-track. Therefore, we need to focus our planning efforts on our major goals and objectives for next year. We are looking to expand our Responsive Classroom practitioners group. Our early adopters did an outstanding job laying the foundation for our second cohort group, scheduled to train this upcoming August. Educators across all grade levels continue to utilize the Collins Writing Approach. We are eager to see further progression as we plan for year two of this program. Please join us for more conversation on March 20th.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Enjoy the weekend!
