Clackamas River Elementary
Emergency Drill Notice
Thursday March 22nd
I wanted to notify you that tomorrow Thursday, March 22nd our school will be practicing a Level 2 Lockdown drill. A Lockdown is only necessary when there is a threat inside our building. Obviously, we hope that this will never occur in our community however we want to ensure that students and staff are prepared in case of an emergency.
Tomorrow's drill will be announced as an emergency practice only situation students will be assured that there is no emergency or threat.
During the drill, all doors will be locked, including interior classroom doors. Lights will be turned off and students will "shelter in place" with their teacher/staff while our team ensures the building is secure. Once the building has been secured, classes will resume business as usual.
I encourage you to have a conversation with your child either this evening or tomorrow morning before school and then again after school to ensure they feel comfortable talking with you about what's going on at school and any concerns or fears that they have before or after the drill.
If you have any questions or concerns or feedback please don't hesitate to reach out to me either by email or phone or in person.
In partnership,
Amy Hudson
