The 70's
Pong
Pong was released on November 29, 1972 and took the people by storm. Pong is a simple 2-player game in which the players move their player (rectangle) up and down trying to bounce the white ball into their opponents goal. The inventor of Pong is Allan Alcorn, who first made the machine as a training exercise.
The 80's
Pacman
Pacman was released on May 22, 1980. In Pacman you play as, none other than, Pacman who's goal is to eat all the pellets in each stage until the player is caught by the ghosts and loses all his lives. The Pacman arcade machines were eating more quarters than Pacman was eating pellets! Pacman was created by Toru Iwatani and was developed by Namco.
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong was released July 9, 1981 and was published by Nintendo. In Donkey Kong you play as Jumpman who jumps over barrels and climbs ladders to reach his girlfriend, Pauline.
