Principal's Message
I'm so proud of our students this week. We had set an ambitious goal of AES students collectively earning 500 PAWS in recognition of our STAR principles and our students delivered in a big way! For reaching our goal, AES held a Friday afternoon movie event. Students were able to vote on a movie for their individual classes to watch on Friday afternoon as a building-wide reward for a job well done! Students were also allowed to bring in a stuffed toy from home for movie time.
We will continue to develop fun monthly events like this to acknowledge the hard work of our students. However, we couldn't do it with you as our AES family partners. Thank you for always reinforcing our STAR principles at home.
I also want to acknowledge our Most Improved Readers who were recognized at Thursday's Board of Education meeting and honored us by reading to members of the BOE and Lumberton staff. Thank you to our teachers and parents for making this event special.

Important Message from the Nurse's Office
We are in the height of cold and flu season, and with the continued presence of positive COVID cases, we need to reiterate the importance of monitoring your child's health and not sending them to school if they do not feel well. In the event that you keep your child home, please call our nurse, Mrs. Zack, to let her know. Per Department of Health Guidance, if your child is sent home for COVID symptoms, they will need to test negative to return. Finally, if your child tests positive, please let Mrs. Zack know and she will talk with you about the protocols for a safe return.
