FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
I pray this newsletter finds you in good health during these challenging times. Due to the upcoming Easter Triduum, the Weekly Info comes to you a few days early this week.
As a Catholic school, Holy Week is one of the most important times of the year for us to come together as a faith community. Unfortunately, due to the current crisis, it is not possible for us to be physically present with one another; however, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Fr. Woolley and the staff at the Parish who have worked tirelessly to provide a wide range of Holy Week events, services, and Masses via livestream.
You can see the full schedule attached below, and the livestream can be found on the Saints John & Paul Facebook Page with further guidance on the parish website. Please note you do not need a Facebook account to tune in!
In addition, please note the following academic schedule for the remainder of Holy Week:
Thursday, April 9th, Holy Thursday - Reduced Course Load
Traditionally a modified day at school with retreats and other activities in recognition of the Easter Triduum, April 9th will include a reduced course load for all students.
The lightened course load allows students and families to prepare for the Easter celebration and enjoy a number of livestream events leading up to and celebrating Easter. See the attached schedule below.
Friday, April 10th, Good Friday - No Classes
As previously scheduled, this will be a day off for all students and teachers. No assignments or instruction will be provided on April 10th, as we commemorate the passion and death of our Lord.
Monday, April 13th, Easter Monday - No Classes
In order to provide teachers and families appropriate time to enjoy the Easter celebration, Monday, April 13th will be a day off for all students and teachers.
Distance learning classes will resume on Tuesday, April 14th.
Lastly, in the Easter Spirit, next week (April 14th-17th) will be Virtual Learning Spirit Week! It's easy to participate. Simply review the theme for the day, then snap a photo and post it to our Spirit Week Padlet: bit.ly/FJVDVirtualSpiritWeek! I look forward to joining together virtually to celebrate!
I want to take this opportunity to wish each of you a blessed Easter. Centuries ago, St. Augustine proclaimed "We are an Easter people, and Alleluia is our song!" It is a statement that rings true even amidst the difficulties we face in our present day. During these particularly challenging times, let us celebrate all the more fervently the Good News of Christ risen!
Know of my continued prayers for you, your families, and our entire school community.
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
