Heritage Week 2020 was a Huge Success!
While we could not enjoy the Heritage Week festivities in person, the virtual sessions we experienced were phenomenal. How heartwarming to hear from our two alums--LaRonde Liverpool & Seth Giscombe--who talked about their experiences at LHS and how they have found success after graduation. It was especially touching to hear them talk about people at LHS who helped them on their journey. Tommy Reamon, Jr. gave our students insight into what it takes to follow your dreams and the importance of surrounding yourself with good people who will help you along the way.
We had over 1,800 students and staff tuned in to our big finale speaker, Shaun Derick, and they were not disappointed. Shaun had an energetic and inspiring message for all of us. We ended the week with Shaun's presentation to a group of our student leaders on Friday afternoon. While we had some obstacles to overcome, our Heritage Week celebration was a great success. It truly lived up to the theme, "The Power of Us!"
Many thanks to everyone on the Heritage Week planning committee. You all did a fabulous job. Special shoutout to Jason Stanley and Danielle Gish for everything they did behind the scenes to pull all of this off!
