Principal Alcázar's Message

Sandpiper Families,

Thank you, students, teachers, staff, parents, and volunteers - Noche de Musica was an amazing event! On behalf of the Sandpiper staff and myself, we are proud of how our students performed! All our students were prepared and enthusiastic and did their very best! We thank parents and family members for your support, patience, and enthusiasm.

A SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT TO OUR 6th GRADE STUDENT AMBASSADORS! Thank you for all your hard work and preparation. You spoke so well and showed our entire community what our students can achieve by remaining at Sandpiper!

I am so very grateful for the support of Alyssa Concha-Chavez. She dedicated so many hours to this performance.

DSMS staff Principal Hummert and Music Teacher Michele Kahn - Thank you for sharing your school, supporting us, and guiding us. Thanks to your facility, we were able to bring our PreKinder to 6th-grade community together to celebrate our students.

I hope everyone enjoyed this event - soon, I will share the opportunity to donate and receive a Noche de Musica video. This video will have all the student presentations and songs.

Muchas Gracias!

Parent Teacher Conferences: Parent Teacher Conference week is this week, January 23 -27th. There will be an early dismissal on Thursday, January 26th, and Friday, January 27th, to accommodate all parent-teacher conference meetings.

Parental Involvement is a critical factor in a child's academic success

Kids and teens do better in school when parents get involved. Attending parent–teacher conferences is one way to be involved and help your child succeed.

A parent-teacher conference is a great opportunity to:

  • discuss your child's progress
  • share your child's strengths and needs
  • work with the teacher to help your child do well in school

Kind regards,

Principal Jessie Kinney-Alcázar, M.Ed
