NORTH BAND NOTES
January 19-22, 2016
This Week's Schedule
On Tuesday, all 8th graders will attend Band 101 at Pearce High School. 8th graders and their parents should meet in the Pearce Band Hall at 5:45pm, where you'll be escorted off to some fun activities with the Pearce Band students. Parents will have a meeting starting at 6:00pm. Dinner is served for band members and their parents at 7:00pm. We did no hear back from everyone, so we planned on at least one parent per student.

PARENT MEETING INFORMATION
RICHARDSON CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL
Please also remember that soloists will need to acquire an original copy of their solo for the contest. A list of local music stores (that carry sheet music) is on the bottom of the Accompanist List.
Bitty is a 7th grade flute player in Symphonic 2. She has a terrific attitude and has improved so much this year! Anyone who knows her will agree that she's a true joy to be around, and we love that she always has something sharp and witty to offer to the conversation. Bitty is a huge asset to the flute section!
Charlie is one of our multi-talented Viking Band members - not only is he first chair in the Symphonic 1 euphonium section, but he also plays bass trombone in Symphonic 2 AND plays on the Viking Basketball team! Charlie earned a spot in the All-Region Band as well. We are super excited to have students who excel in lots of different activities like Charlie does!
Marissa is an outstanding 7th grade horn player in Symphonic 1. She also earned a spot in the All-Region bands this fall. Marissa is super fun to be around and is another one of our young players to watch out for. Marissa is super organized and that shows in all that she has contributed to the horn section so far this year. Thank you, Marissa!
