Course Registration Information
The 2020-2021 Course Registration period will be opening soon. I have updated all of the necessary documents and placed them on our website HERE. Please begin looking through the course guide and other documents to prepare for course registration.
It is very important that you read through the information in the course guide before beginning this process. There is more in the course guide than just courses, and most of your questions can be answered there if you take the time to review.
I will be in your science classes next week to talk through the process and answer any questions that you may have before online registration opens.
Below is a timeline of the next few months:
- January 13-17 in Science classes to discuss registration
- January 20 online registration opens
- February 7 online registration closes
- February 10-21 counselor meets with each learner individually to go other course requests and personal graduation plan..
- March 17 course verification forms handed out
- April 1 course verification forms due
If at any point during the registration process you have problems or questions, then please send me an e-mail and we will review or schedule a meeting to discuss.
Thank you,
Kennington
Still Looking For Funding: Grant: A Campus that Reads Together, Grows Together
Our campus was fortunate to have a number of grants funded by the Ed Foundation this year but we still have one we could use to get some funding: https://give.livingtree.com/c/a-campus-that-reads-together-grows-together
Summary: Let's bring facilitators and learners together through book clubs during Fabulous Flex Fridays. Facilitators will choose a high-interest title and co-facilitate book club meetings. Learners will be able to be a part of the book club of their choice. Not only will these book clubs help to enrich and engage learners to read more, but they will also serve as an additional way for facilitators and learners to bond over shared experiences.
The deadline to submit a donation is February 19th.

Future Testing Accommodation Information
NTH@C College Board and ACT Testing Accommodations
Application Process and Forms
A student with a documented disability may be eligible for accommodations on College Board tests (SAT, SAT Subject Tests, PSAT, and AP exams) and the ACT. The school does not automatically apply for students to receive accommodations, but will assist families once the request is made to begin the process of applying for accommodations if their child is eligible for Section 504 or SPED. Parents should initiate the process by visiting our information page located on the New Tech High Website, under Announcements:
If you have any questions regarding testing accommodations, please contact Ms. Shaikh, Assistant Principal at rshaikh@coppellisd.com.
