What to expect this week.

  • Front doors will open at 7:15am. First bell rings at 8:15am. when students arrive on campus, they will go to the Gym, until they are released to class.
  • Students who arrive after the 8:15am bell, will receive a Tardy. Unless they have arrived to school on a late bus.
  • March 30th - Spring Photos (see flyer below or pick up at front office)


A-Gl Student of the Week

The student of the week is Brandon Chau nominated by Mrs. Daniels.


Brandon is a responsible, hard-working student. He advocates for all members of his classroom. He is adamant about fairness and is consistently helpful, not only to me, but his classmates as well. Brandon is one of the most positive, warm-hearted students I have had the pleasure of teaching this year. – Latrice Daniels

"Travis is incredibly kind. He is always looking out for other students. He makes sure everything is fair and is always the first person to offer help."

P-Z Student of the Week

The student of the week is Caleb Pennington nominated by Giselle Castorena.

"Caleb is a hard worker! He comes in for help if needed and is willing to go the extra mile to get his work done. He is respectful and always has a positive spirit about him. In class he stays attentive and is ready to participate in the lesson. He comes prepared for class everyday He is a joy! "

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, please find a list of resources from the Texas Department of family & Protective Services that you may use:

Child Advocates of Fort Bend has additional resources that can be shared with faculty.

Child Advocates also has multiple programs they provide free of charge, please contact Lindsey Castellanos @ for further information

Finally, Friday April 1, form 6-8 p.m. Child Advocates will host a fun inclusive community event celebrating the Light of Hope campaign to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month. See attached flyer.

Attention 7th graders: Now is the time to register for the 2023 Washington DC and New York City Trip! The dates of the trip will be March 10-14, 2023.

Don’t miss this trip of a lifetime. We will visit Times Square, Central Park, see a Broadway show and an NBA game, the Smithsonian Museums, the White House, and so much more! •Think for a moment about the amazing staff at Leaman. Who is working hard for students? Nominate a teacher or staff member that you would like to recognize for their hard work in the Be the One survey.

•Each week the results will be gathered. They will then be shared with staff members during Tuesday department meetings or Wednesday staff meetings.

Federal Report Cards

Leaman Junior High School is sharing the below information about the district and your child’s campus with you as part of its obligations under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).

Federal Report Cards for the state, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available on the district’s website at this link: or are also available on the Texas Education Agency’s website at: A detailed description of these reports is enclosed.

If you have difficulty accessing the information from the website, hard copies of the reports can be requested from the district or campus office.
