The Climate of Earth

The Earths climate has changed many time before, it usually rises for a long time then has a very big drop in temperature. These rises and falls are caused by the level of CO2 in the atmosphere. The last ice age was around 7,000 years ago. In the past 650,000 years Earth has gone through many glacial advances and retreats.

The Formation of Earth

Earth was created from a bunch of dust and rocks that over time came together to form bigger and bigger rocks. The reason the Earth orbits the sun is because the sun has more weight, the sun weighs around 300,000,000 times the weight of the Earth. This he Earth was made so massive that it losses around 50,000 tonnes of mass every year.

The Atmosphere

When Earth first formed it was mostly gasses and molten solids, Gasses came out of the volcanoes which made the atmosphere. When the Earth was in this stage it had around 200 times the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. Earth's atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.9% argon, and 0.03% carbon dioxide with very small percentages of other elements.
