SHARK SHOUT OUTS
- Shark Shout Out to Dave Burke and John Larson for caring for our raised bed garden throughout the summer months. The fruits of their labors were few but we continue to aim high and enrich the soil, experiment with what we grow, and try and outwit the pesky rodents! -Ms. Caroline Freitas
- Sending a Shark Shout Out! to Tyler Crossen who offered to run an errand when he heard the need while in the office this morning. Your kindness is much appreciated TYLER! -Mrs. Janet Ferro

James Otis Scholars Attend Annual Lecture
The following students attended the annual James Otis Lecture at Faneuil Hall in Boston on September 24th with Mr. Houston: Sage Barnes, Lillian Ryan, Mila Bologna, Joe Cottle, Annabelle Sims, and Shannen Holbrook. These James Otis Scholars were chosen based upon their outstanding work in US History. In addition to the lecture, they also toured Boston Public Gardens, Boston Common, the Massachusetts Statehouse, and other historic sites along the Freedom Trail. See @monomoyhistory twitter feed for a virtual tour. Photo shows the students with Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito on the balcony of the Statehouse.
Abby Kelley Does It Again!
Once again Abby has added a ray of sunshine to our guidance office with her "Dot" poster based on the popular children's book, "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds. Students at Monomoy can take a mental health break and add their dot creation to the poster.
Thank you Abby!

On Thursday October 10 from 8:45-11:00 we will once again be hosting the Credit for Life Fair here at the MRHS Gym. The fair is an interactive simulation that requires our senior students to select a career option and practice managing their personal budgets based upon the projected monthly income of their job choice. Students will visit booths staffed by Cape Cod Five employees and other members of the community as they make financial decisions about what they want, what they need and what they can afford. The Credit for Life Fair was designed to help students gain an understanding of the financial decisions they will have to make when they are on their own, without parents or guardians paying the bills and covering costs of food, clothing, shelter and entertainment.

SENIOR FALL FOCUS
Individual Senior Meetings are under way. The students have copies of a Parent Brag Sheet and it is very helpful to have information from the ones that know their child best as we write the recommendation letters. Seniors also have a recommendation form to complete to give to their counselor to help with the recommendation process. Please return those forms as soon as possible!
