Although Memorial Day through Labor Day has long been considered the most popular season for beach-goers, many vacationers have come to enjoy the area during other seasons. Locals will tell you that the best times of the year are spring and fall. The weather is more temperate and the rates are low. Golfers, fisherman and shoppers would most likely prefer the less crowded season. See you there!

"World's Luckiest Fishing Village"

Destin's history dates back to 1846. A fisherman named Captain Leonard Destin started the fishing industry that Destin is known for today. Destin is considered the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village," because it has the largest and most equipped fishing fleet in Florida. People come from all over the world to experience the speediest deep-sea fishing and and try their "luck" at catching one of their own.
