Principal's Message
April 27, 2018
Dear Willink Families,
The month of May is finally at hand, hard to believe. Although the temperatures have been a bit chilly and damp, our Willink Titan athletes are playing well! Next week, temperatures are supposed to be in the 60's and 70's so if you get a chance, take in a competition. You will be impressed by their efforts and sportsmanship.
This morning, we honored students who were nominated for April's Titans CARE to Make a Difference award. These students reflected April's CAREacter trait of fairness throughout the month. You can see a picture of the nominees below. We are very proud of them.
Tonight is the annual 6th Grade event, “ Neon Night” sponsored by Student Council from 7:30-9 in the cafetorium. Over 200 tickets have been sold and the students are excited! Students can wear their favorite neon outfit under the black lights while they enjoy the DJ, open gym, and refreshments. Glow wear will be on sale. Ticket are available for $5 at the door. It’s going to be a great time for our 6th graders!
Next weekend, the STUDENT RUN production of Trouble in Paradise Junction will be performed here at Willink on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th. Three of our 8th grade students, Colby Armstrong, Jake Groff and Jakob Rothfuss are directing this play, which involves nearly 50 actors and stage crew from grades 6 through 8. Their hard work has been impressive, and the show will be terrific! Please come support our students and catch a great show next weekend! See the flyer below for all the details including show times. Purchase tickets online! https://willink-student-run.ticketleap.com/2018/
As a reminder, on Wednesday, May 2nd, we are hosting our annual 5th-grade open house from 5:30-7:30. We have an exciting format planned so if you have a 5th grade student entering Willink in the fall, please stop by. You won’t want to miss it!
Next week is Staff Appreciation Week. As you know, we are blessed with an incredible staff and they do amazing things each day to help your child be successful. Please take a moment and send them a quick email, letting them know how much you appreciate their efforts. I know they would love to hear from you.
Have a great weekend!
Jim
