WBMS Friday Notes
Reflections from Ms. Perkins
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
There are so many reasons I love visiting our classrooms each day, but the two that stand out this week are our students’ enthusiasm and collaborative skills. They are genuinely excited about learning and discovery. Our students crave problem-solving! Whether it is a challenging math problem, science dilemma, or text analysis, they are eager to dive in and figure it out or at least have fun while they test out plausible solutions. When I inquire about their thinking, they readily explain it in detail and show me their progress. They are proud of their work, even if they are struggling. I observe a mixture of independent, partner, and group work, but the effective collaboration that occurs in our classrooms is something special. They truly cooperate by listening, questioning, and assisting, which enhances their outcome. I know they wonder why I smile so much when I am in rooms watching them work; it is because I am so proud of them and because I know these are skills they will leverage no matter what path they choose in life. Problem solvers who work well with others will succeed - personally and professionally - and that is what I desire for each one of our students.
Enjoy your weekend!
