Milnes Memo
April 28, 2023
We had a fantastic week at Milnes. We had a Harlem Wizards Assembly where we danced and had a lot of fun. Ms. Brown, Mrs. Gogerty, and Mrs. Hoffman will be playing in the game and event on May 8th at Fair Lawn High School at 6:30PM.
We begin NJSLA testing on Monday for grades 3 and 4. It is important that the students arrive well-rested and on time. We appreciate your assistance in ensuring our students are as prepared as possible to do their very best.
Strap on your helmet and lace up your shoes! Wednesday, May 3rd, is Bike and Roll to School Day! Bike & Roll to School Day invites participants to celebrate the joy of active commuting while building a sense of community and school spirit.
We've started our spring fundraiser and your involvement is needed more than ever! We would love to make this our FINAL 4th grade fundraiser this school year, which is possible with your help! We are raising $5,000 for the Milnes 4th graders THIS YEAR and NEXT. We have currently sold $4,000. We are almost there!!!
You can support the fundraiser by any of the following:
1) Purchase items out of the catalog for you and your family.
2) Share your fundraiser on social media, by email, or text on www.ShopFund.com
3) Ask neighbors, co-workers, friends & others to purchase and show their support.
Please know that your assistance this year in particular will make a huge difference and thank you in advance for your participation in the fundraiser!
PAPER FORMS NEED TO BE SENT BACK TO MILNES by Monday, May 1st.
P.S. We will hit our fundraising goal if your family sells just 10 items.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Mrs. Stephanie Primavera

Reporting Student Absences
Kindly enter all absences, late arrivals and early releases as follows:
· Using the Genesis Parent Portal (Attendance Tab): Select date(s), time(s), reason for absence. Using the “Notes” section, please indicate additional pertinent information (i.e. Travel, Dr. Appt., Illness, etc.).
· Call the Attendance line: (201-794-5550, Option #2). Please leave your child’s name, teacher, reason for absence and date(s)/time(s).
Both are available 24/7 and will record your child's absence and report it to your child’s teacher as well. As teachers and staff can be absent and our email servers can be disabled and inaccessible at times, we ask that you refrain from using email to report. Using the above-mentioned sources will ensure that the main office and covering teacher(s) (subs./special area) receive the attendance in a timely manner.
