Why are the Rainforests of the Atsinanana important?
The Rainforests of the Atsinanana are important because the land provides safe homes for both, plants and animals. In fact 90% of the species of animals that live there live no where else in the world! Those species would include lemurs, reptiles, birds, and insects. It's so important because some of the plants that grow there, that grow no where else in the world, are used as an ingredient for medicine that saves people lives. If the forest gets destroyed the plants could be wiped out and never grow back which means sickness could spread over time. The Rainforests of the Atsinanana have saved so many lives for endangered species of plants and animals!

People are destroying the land!
In the Rainforests of the Atsinanana people are destroying the land. To destroy the land people are cutting trees down and killing lemurs to use for food, by doing this they are changing life in the rainforest which could have bad and major results. The rainforests provide a perfect home for lemurs, so there’s over 25 species of lemur that live happily there. People around the rainforests aren’t that rich so its hard for them to eat because they can’t really afford anything. To solve the problem they are going into the rainforests and killing lemurs to use for food or to sell for money. Also, because their poor some people can’t afford homes, so they go into forests to cut some down some trees to use the wood to build a home.
