From the Principal.....
Dear Mustang Families,
The Mustang staff are committed to creating a year of excellence for our children as we focus on bringing our students, staff and community together to "Believe” in our path together. "Believe" is our motto as we continue to focus on making our district vision and mission the core of our daily work with children, teachers and parents. This will guide our work to believe in our students, our staff and our families working together. We're going to believe in each other in our quest to make a difference. #McBrideBelieve
As always, please feel free to reach out with question, concerns or compliments!
Sincerely,
Lisa Tyler

McBride's First Tidy Up Tuesday
At McBride, we are lucky to have a fantastic custodial team who keep our bathrooms, cafeteria, and learning spaces clean and sanitized. We BELIEVE that students and staff deserve the best environment possible for learning. We also believe that each and every Mustang has a responsibility for taking care of our building and school grounds.
Working TOGETHER on Tuesday, October 29th; teachers and students will be invited to "adopt" a section of hallway to "tidy-up. This will be the first "Tidy-Up Tuesday" of the year. Every other month a Tuesday will be scheduled and a task will be given, for classes to participate in.
We BELIEVE that working together as a team to care for our school demonstrates responsibility and pride of ownership. McBride Mustangs have pride. We have pride in ourselves, pride in each other, and pride in our school building.
Team Read
We have a team of volunteers who have come to support second graders learning to read. This team is trained by a retired McBride teacher, Jodie Withers and closely works with "Team Read" each week to provide a boost to instruction for our students. We would love for you to be a part of Team Read.
If you choose to volunteer it would be on a Tuesday or Thursday from 8:50 to approx 10:00. Please contact Jodie Withers at: grannyjodiereads@gmail.com
Lost and Found
We will be clearing out our Lost and Found during Thanksgiving Break. Please make sure you look through the Lost and Found located in the Cafeteria and pick up any jackets, water bottles, etc that may have been left at school before the items are donated.
Thank you!

Music Memos
Happy October, Everyone!
This school year is going by so fast already!
As the end of October approaches, we are reviewing and summarizing what we’ve learned through the end of September and October. Next week, we will begin assessing for our quarter one skills grades
Here is a summary of what we will be assessing in each grade:
K-1: I can pick an emotion for a song
2-3: I can name elements of music: Purpose, genre, expression, note names, note values, staff, bar line, measure
4-5: I can analyze the expressive intent of a song; I can use our grade level established rubric to analyze a performance’s quality
As a reminder, Fall (Blue) and All-Year (Sapphire) choirs are meeting every Tuesday from 2:15-3:15 in the music room. Please make sure to be on time for pick-up. You should have received a performance and practice schedule both by email and hard copy from your student.
As always, feel free to call, email, or stop by!

Together "Believe" Awards
2nd Grade Teachers (Mrs. Kreafle, Mr. Peterson, Miss Quick). Each day they are kind and easy to work with as they assist students entering the cafeteria and after lunch recess when they pick up their classes. Even during these transition times, when things can be chaotic, they care for their students, communicate with the recess supervisors about any issues, use well thought and individualized strategies to help students who struggle with transitions, all with patience. What an amazing group!
LeeAnn Holcomb and Katie Marsh (Life Skills Team) These two ladies outdid themselves for staff room treats this week! Thank you!
Diana Johnstun and Michelle Flock (Reading Team)
These two make a great team supporting our third graders in the cafeteria. They keep our kiddos safe by consistently reminding them to follow cafeteria expectations and offer their support to everyone with a big smile!
Paige Tindall (Former student at McBride) Paige is moving to Colorado to begin a new life adventure. Before leaving she wanted to give back to her home community and donated school supplies and funds to support lunch accounts. She is a great example of "once a Mustang, always a Mustang" making a positive contribution to her community. We "Believe" she will find continued success and wish her all the best!
Ms. Green (Success Coach) The nomination came in and said: I love Ms. Green. Oh, scratch that. Everyone loves Ms. Green. Her bright smile is highly anticipated by everyone who walks through our doors in the morning. Even parents of students who have moved on from McBride come back and seek her advice. We are so lucky to have Ms. Green here on our front lines to support our kiddos!
Michelle Flock (Reading Team) Mrs. Flock is very supportive, patient, and helpful to all students. She is such a positive addition to our classroom and has developed amazing relationships with students. She is positive and encouraging to everyone she comes in contact with and is very appreciated!
Matthew Seim (Newest Guest Teacher) What a wonderful addition to our McBride family (and on our Guest Teacher list). Matthew is open and friendly. He has a gentle tone and a calm demeanor and has made immediate connections with our students. Once a Mustang, always a Mustang, Matthew! We're so happy to have you join us here at McBride!
Sarah Landels (4th Grade Teacher) This week at the School Board Meeting, Miss Landels stepped in for a sick Mrs. Tyler by giving McBride's school report in her place. It was reported she did a fabulous job and one board member commented that it was admirable for her to do that. What a wonderful way to support our school, Miss Landels. Thank you.
A BIG thank you to Kalena Loomis (McBride parent) for volunteering in a Kindergarten classroom this week and helping to prep for our Pod A Spider Party crafts. Mrs. Loomis heard the teacher was sick and bought her a big box of tea and a hot tea to start my day. Her kindness is appreciated so much. It totally made this Kindergarten teacher's week!
McBride Staff (amazing people) I am so proud to be a Mustang. I was out sick for two days this week and if you know me, that is very difficult for me to stay away. This staff pulled together, supported each other, students and families. I say it again, McBride is the best place to be! Thank you, McBride Staff.
