SMS Weekly Wrap Up
Good morning SMS families!
It’s been a great week here at SMS! We've enjoyed celebrating Kindness Week by showing appreciation to our wonderful students and staff in a number of ways. Please see below for important information as we start wrapping up the school year.
Thank you Leadership Team!-
This week, our awesome Leadership Team, including Mrs. Johnson, worked hard organizing Kindness Week and guided tours for incoming 7th graders. This group has helped make SMS a place of love, acceptance, and success and we appreciate them!
End of School Farewell Parade -
We know our students worked hard this school year and we want to celebrate all of their accomplishments and get a chance to say our goodbyes.
All SMS Students (and parents) are invited to attend our
end of the year Drive By Parade.
When: June 10th from 6-7:30
Where: Enter @ SMS Annex Parking Lot and drive through the school bus lanes around to exit out the front of the school
Teachers and Staff will line the path and direct you through the parade. There will be three stops along the way for students to pick up special treats to start the summer right!

8th Grade End of Year Celebration-
Who: All SMS 8th grade students
When: June 10th at 11:30 am
Where: SMS Activity Field- rain or shine
(behind cafeteria)
What: Join us for an outside picnic lunch to celebrate moving on to High School. 8th Grade Students will be dismissed from their 3rd-period class to go join the fun.
Bring (optional): Blanket to sit on, jacket
What is Being Served: Grilled Hot Dogs, Chips, and Drink
Students Of The Week -
Payton Hammon - Payton puts forth 100% effort every day and participates to help make the class run smoothly. She is active and helpful in leadership as well as a friendly face at SMS.
Cayden Thomas - Cayden has been working super hard on all of his assignments and doing very well in his math and language arts class!
Taylor Thorne - Taylor is a rockstar! She is constantly going above and beyond with her work and is so delightful to have in class.
Mason Campbell- Mason is a wonderful student who tries his very best in class each day! He is attentive to the material, actively participates in class, and stays on top of his work! A true pleasure to have in class!
Vanessa Lao- Attends all zooms, Does a great job on assignments, and is friendly and kind. Vanessa works hard to get her work done.
Last Day Of School - All students will be released from school at 12:22 pm
Chromebook Return-
In-person students will return their Chromebook and charger to the commons on the last day of school, June 10th.
CDL students will return their Chromebooks to the school on Friday, June 11th.
If your family received a “hot spot”, please return it with the Chromebook.
Dance Team Auditions -
Any upcoming 6th through 8th-grade student interested in participating on the Middle School "Explosion" Dance Team - we have auditions on Wednesday, June 9th. Registration and skills assessment will be held at Scappoose MIDDLE school Commons/Upper Gym from 6:15 - 7:15 pm. Both guys and girls are welcome! Attached is the registration form and information.
