Gator Greetings
Wow – just WOW! The start to the 2022-2023 school year could not have gone any better. Students were filled with enthusiasm and happy to be back at school while showing they remembered exactly what it means to be an Allisonville Alligator. Our values of safe, responsible, and respectful were followed, as students got back into the routine of school. Over the last two days, teachers spent a majority of their time getting to know students and building a strong classroom community. Many thanks to parents for their patience with arrival and dismissal times for both car riders and bus riders. It takes a few days for staff and students to get the arrival and dismissal process down, but it will be like clockwork very soon.
Our goal is to have all students in their classroom by 7:50 am for the start of morning announcements. If you are a car rider, you can help us with this by having your child ready to exit the car and following our arrival procedures of pulling up close to the car in front of you and following adult instructions. To cut down on the length of the car rider line, the bus is always a good option. We are so lucky to have 15 veteran bus drivers this year at Allisonville.
Teachers will be excited to show off their classroom communities at Back to School Night on Thursday, August 25th. Due to our limited parking, parents with students in grades K, 2, & 4 will attend from 5:15-6:00 pm. Parents with students in grades 1, 3, & 5 will attend form 6:30-7:15 pm. Additionally, there will be a General PTO Meeting from 6:00-6:30 pm in the cafeteria. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend to get a PTO overview for the school year. Back to School Night is an adults-only event and is an important time for parents and guardians to meet your child’s teacher. It is a great opportunity to hear about all the wonderful things they have planned for the school year. You can also ask questions about curriculum, grading, procedures, and more. Please plan to join us at Allisonville on August 25th for Back to School Night!
Next week, Mrs. Bobb and I will be doing School Expectation Talks with all grade levels. We will review our common expectations of safe, responsible, and respectful at Allisonville and what it means to be an Allisonville Alligator, where we have pride in ourselves and our school. I will remind students that we do not bring weapons of any kind to school and that we do not allow for bullying behavior at Allisonville. Additionally, we will review our different drills and what we do to stay safe during a fire, inclement weather, or lock down drill. We will practice these drills as a school next week. Students may come home with questions about the expectation talks or safety drills next week.
Welcome back AV families! We are looking forward to a wonderful school year at Allisonville.

Truancy Prevention Month
Many people don’t realize that when kids miss just 2-3 days of school every month it can make it difficult for them to learn. In Washington Township, we want our students to build the habit of good school attendance. This year, help children Attend. Engage. Achieve.
