Principal's Corner
Edelweiss House and Sister Pat
The Edelweiss House is a home for children who need a temporary place to stay run by our friend Sister Pat O'Bryan. In addition to housing, Sister Pat provides for the children's clothing, food, and education. It is located between Batesville and Greensburg and has helped numerous children in our area.
As you know, any money collected during All-School Masses this year is given to the children of our Haiti sister parish. Some of our 8th graders would also like to help Edelweiss House, since it survives on donations alone. So we will donate any money collected the next two All-School Masses to Edelweiss House.
After these two weeks, we will return to donating any money collected to our Haiti students.
Thank you Mr. Monnig
It's around this time of year that teachers let me know their intentions for the following school year. With that said, Mr. Monnig has informed me that he is going to teach math at a high school next year. Mr. Monnig, we wish you nothing but the best and thank you for your service to SLS.
Mr. Moeller

National Junior Honor Society
The St. Louis School National Junior Honor Society wants to let you know of an upcoming opportunity for NJHS members, newly inducted 7th grade members, and all 8th grade students. On Saturday, February 11 the NJHS will attend a production of The Cay by Theodore Taylor, a wonderful junior high novel.
The play is being performed by the Indiana Repertory Theatre. They offer group discount tickets at a rate of $12 per student and $29 per adult. This will be a great opportunity for the students to experience a professional theater performance. Parent chaperones/drivers are warmly welcome.
Please let Miss Ruschke or Mrs. Baxter know if your son/daughter will be attending the production by today or as soon as possible, so we can keep our pre-reserved seats and ensure our group can sit together. Please have money turned in by Thursday, Feb. 9. We would like to meet at St. Louis School and carpool down to Indianapolis. The play begins at 2pm, so we would plan on meeting at 12:15 pm to drive up to the theater.

St. Louis Winter Book Fair
The Book Fair was once again a success. We raised over $1800 in Scholastic Bucks for the library! Thanks to everyone who supported the book fair by purchasing books themselves or allowing their children to buy books. I would also like to say "thank you" to my wonderful volunteers who helped in various ways with running the book fair. Without all of you our book fair would not be possible. Thank you all!
