When the Austro-Hungarian Empire Collapsed in 1918 Slovakia joined Czech Republic to create Czechslovakia. They came over and settled mostly in community's that have other Slovakian people living there. A few immigrants immigrated before the civil war but just a few.

  1. The day before, boil potatoes with the skins on until tender. Cook enough to make at least 6 cups cold riced potatoes. Peel the potatoes, and rice them. Refrigerate them until needed.
  2. Brown 2 to 3 pieces of bread in butter or margarine for croutons. Cut into small pieces, and let cool.
  3. Combine riced potatoes, 5 or 6 beaten eggs, salt, and flour. Add croutons, and mix together. The mixture should stick together. Too much flour will make them heavy.
  4. Form into balls about the size of tennis balls. Drop into boiling water in a large pot. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

Just info

Slovakia is bordered with Poland to the North, Czech Republic to the west, Ukraine to the east, and Hungary to the South. They have a total population of 5.44 million people according to 2011. They immigrated because like most country's they wanted a better life and religion.

About the Country

Slovakia is an amazing country. It has beautiful Castles and rolling hills. When I think Slovakia I think cobblestone pavements and little stores and carts selling things.
