REMINDERS FOR PARENTS
ALTERNATE BUS STOPS: When road conditions are hazardous to safe school bus travel, certain residential areas have been assigned alternate bus stops. Parents/guardians will be notified by the school district’s ConnectEd telephone system when alternate bus stops are to be used.
For complete details, visit https://www.mpsd.org/site/Default.aspx?PageID=749
SCHOOL DISMISSAL: Please document all dismissal changes with a written note to your child’s homeroom teacher. The school must hear directly from a parent/guardian. Please remember that phone calls during the school day cause interruptions to the classroom and may lead to confusion at the end of the day.
NOTES TO SCHOOL: Please be sure to include your child’s first and last name plus homeroom teacher’s name on all correspondence regarding dismissal changes and absences.
BUS CHANGES:
- Parents may not ask the bus driver to adjust their child’s bus stop.
- Students may only get off at their assigned bus stop.
- Students may only ride their assigned buses.
- Requests to change a student’s permanent bus assignment may be approved by the Principal, or designee, if the request is received in writing a minimum of five days in advance.
- If there is a family emergency, or medical situation, parents should notify the school Principal and other transportation arrangements may be made.
Scholastic BOOK FAIR is next week!
Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week to GWS and students are quite excited! The Book Fair will officially begin this Friday evening, 1/25, at Winterfest.
Next week, students will visit the Book Fair by class during scheduled library time. Parents or Guardians are welcome to shop with their child or to volunteer to help with the register and checkout process. New this year, Scholastic offers an

e-wallet is easy and can be done by visiting: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/parent-how-it-works.html
