Merry Christmas from all of us at Goodness Grows!

Our GG elves have been busy this month with many holiday projects. We have enjoyed making more decorations for our tree in the Cafe. Miss Rachel even painted a special tree topper - using a flowerpot as the base for a star to highlight our theme of growing. Isn't she creative?!?! Our crew has also baked cookies, decorated the church inside and out, and even taken some time to enjoy the first snows of the season by making some snowmen. It is definitely a winter wonderland here in North Lima!

Snow Fun

You're never to old to enjoy time outside, especially when it involves building snowmen and
snow forts with your friends! Gotta love a day that is full of both sun and snow.

GG Has Great Gifts Made By Our Clients

We always have some Jungle Jam available for purchase. Here is what is currently in stock:

Jungle Jam: Blueberry Jalapeno, Cranberry Jalapeno, Hot (Jalapeno Habanero), Pineapple Habanero (Jungle Jam contains hot peppers - either jalapeno, habanero, or both.)

Juicy Jam: Cranberry Orange, Blueberry Lemonade (Juicy Jam is our fruit jam - no peppers here!)

Give us a call at 330-549-9408 or contact us online to arrange a pick-up or delivery. Our jam is also available at Reach for the STARS in Salem.

Visiting Goodness Grows

During this COVID-19 pandemic, visiting at GG has been severely curtailed as we work to try and keep our clients and staff as safe as possible. We so appreciate how much everyone has pitched in to follow the guidelines and do their best to protect each other! We are eagerly anticipating the day when we can breathe a sigh of relief, say good bye to the masks, and not worry about how close we are standing to one another. But, until that day comes, we will be taking all the recommended health and safety steps so that we can take care of one another. If you stop by to see us or to pick up jam...and we would absolutely love to see you...we require everyone in the building to wear a mask as shown below. Thank you for your help and care as we make our way through this difficult time!

Helping with the Second Harvest Food Drive

Our crew was glad to pitch in and conclude the food drive that the Common Ground Youth Group hosted. We are so thankful for their muscles and their willingness to help wherever needed! The Christmas Food Drive raised $878 and filled Miss Jill's van with non-perishable food items that we delivered to the awesome folks at the Mahoning Valley Second Harvest Food Bank. Thanks to everyone who helped us spread so much good out into the community this Christmas!

Working Together in the Kitchen

Before the pandemic, we would cook lunch once a week and randomly do other kitchen projects. COVID brought our cooking experiences (other than jam making) to a halt for a long time, and everyone has missed the joy of cooking together. Our crew is doing such a fantastic job following the health and safety guidelines - wearing masks, washing hands, trying to social distance - so we felt doing a little cooking was a safe plan. This month we have spent time in the kitchen cleaning and organizing, making lots of jam, baking cookies, making chicken and rice casserole (YUM!), and today we are making chicken noodle soup and fresh bread. It is so nice to have the wonderful smells of homemade food filling our building again!
