Kicking off 2017 in Room 17
Happy New Year!
I hope you all enjoyed a nice holiday break with your families. This week, we began our January theme of Our Neighborhood by talking about community helpers. We had a special visitor, Rada Rabbit, come to school on Thursday to talk to us about the importance of brushing our teeth and making healthy choices. During circle time, we worked on identifying community helpers and we read books about dentists and firefighters. We loved playing in our firefighter dramatic area with our friends from Room 15. During outside play, Ms. Ashley led a game of hide and seek, in which we pretended to be police officers and find our friends!
During P.E., we had fun playing Builders and Bulldozers where half the group put orange cones upright and the other half knocked them over by bending down and swiping them with our hands. Some other fun activities this week included stringing beads, making snowmen with cotton balls, and playing with shaving cream!
