Pasta Bowl 2017
HSE District Goal: 17000 pounds of pasta
Collection Dates: September 5th - 8th
How can you help? Bring pasta to school to donate for local families in need.
What to donate? Any type of dry, uncooked pasta.
When should I bring in the pasta? September 5th - 8th
Get Fired Up for the annual HSE Pasta Bowl. Several schools within our district are coming together to help support more than 4 local hunger relief organizations by collecting pasta for the 2017 Pasta Bowl. In addition to collecting boxes of pasta; the Pasta Bowl is also designed to help raise awareness for the local 1 in 7 students that struggle with food insecurity. This number increases to 1 in 4 students in some of our HSE buildings and we need your help! We are asking the you combine forces with HRE and help us achieve our goal of at least 1000 pounds of pasta to donate to this year's collection. Last year, HRE was the Elementary Pasta Bowl Champions and we want to make sure that we keep our title again this year by collecting ever MORE items! The best way to achieve this goal is by averaging one box of pasta per student. If HRE achieves their overall goal of 1000 pounds of pasta, then every class will be rewarded with an extra recess. To top that, the class that collects the most pasta within each grade level earns an extra special recess with Mr. Hurst and Mrs. Morales! Please join us as we come together to provide and serve our students in need right here in Fishers. Thank you for your support!

Response-to-Instruction (RtI)
RtI is a general education initiative designed to provide high quality instruction and interventions matches to student needs, and using learning rate over time and level of performance to make important educational decisions. The RtI model is based on a three-tiered model of service delivery with a focus on early intervention and prevention of academic and behavioral concerns. Data collected during this process provides valuable information regarding students’ educational progress and response to interventions. Students who do not demonstrate a response to well-implemented, scientifically-based interventions at the Tier 3 level would be referred for an educational evaluation to determine eligibility for special education. RtI is a component of HSE’s Child Find Process.
