Dr. Hudson's Message to Families
April 4, 2022
Dear Cedar Hill ISD Families,
School Start and End Times for 2022-23
CHISD transportation currently operates on a two-tier transportation system with elementary and middle schools on the first tier and CHHS on the second tier. Our administration has taken a close look at our transportation operations and how it relates to the start and end times for our schools; the current bell time structure is out of balance with a greater and disproportionate number of runs in the first tier; the most optimal bell time structure would be that of a triple tier system with 45 minutes between runs.
CHISD would highly benefit from a three-tier bell system which would allow for:
- transportation flexibility
- elevate on-time performance
- lower costs such as fuel and payroll
- better transportation service for programs such as STEM
