Coleman Middle School will become a student-focused community which promotes life-long learning and real-world problem solving through the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math in a global learning community.
The mission of Coleman Middle School is to provide students with rigorous and innovative learning opportunities using Project / Problem Based Learning (PBL) which promote collaboration, critical thinking, community, and creativity.

5 pm - 6 pm: Connections Open House in cafeteria (not required, drop by if you'd like to visit with a connection teacher)....enter through the MAIN ENTRANCE!
6 pm: General meeting in the GYM
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm: Curriculum Meeting in your child's classrooms
Support 7th grade PBL at Curriculum Night
For their first PBL of the year, 7th grade is partnering with Just One Africa to teach our students about the importance of clean water in communities.
Just One Africa believes clean water and sustainability projects change lives and provide hope. You can join in the mission by shopping from Just One Africa's collection of fair trade products which are handmade by artisans in Kenya. Products will be available for purchase on Curriculum Night, Monday, August 26th in the gym.
Have you read a summer reading book?
Students attending Coleman Middle School in the fall of 2019 will be required to read at least one of the following books by author Alan Gratz. A required, GRADED assessment, on the book they chose to read, will be given on Thursday, August 29th.. Students may choose from the following:
· Grenade
· Prisoner B-3087
· Projekt 1065
· Refugee

What Did You Read This Summer??
Let us know what book (or books) you read this summer by leaving a video on our FlipGrid. Include the title of the book and the author. Make sure you title the video with your first name and grade. Prizes will be drawn on morning announcements for students who leave a video before September 1, 2019. All videos are approved by Mrs. Schmidt before posting so you will not see your video in the FlipGrid right away. Click on the link below, watch Mrs. Schmidt's welcome video and then record your own video.
