February Updates and Reminders
Mrs. Oberacker's Class
My internet and cable were in and out over the weekend so I apologize for not sending this newsletter and the homework assignment until today. Yes I had no cable, but I actually read a whole book so I loved it!
The homework this week is to have your child bring in 100 of one item and display by skipping counting to 100. I am not looking for anything fancy just a quick collection of something that they can show and count. Also each child will need a wrapped cereal or shoe box they will be able to decorate on Friday at out Valentine's store. Today a class list will go home for valentines. Please send your child in with valentines on Friday so they exchange after decorating.
I look forward to talking with everyone at conferences Wednesday night or Friday afternoon, which is a half day.
Isaac counting by 5's to solve a math problem.
Ben used tally marks to skip count and solve a problem.
Anthony counted by 2's but then put them into groups of ten to solve his math problem.
This month in math we are working on counting and number patterns to 120. We have done many activities using skip counting with their problem solving and looking for patterns.
