ACP High School - Edition Vol 3 Issue 29
Hello. As we prepare for the week ahead, please remember that school will not be in session tomorrow, Monday, February 19th in honor of Presidents Day. I hope our students will enjoy the extended weekend. We'll see you on Tuesday.
We have two more state champions to celebrate at ACPHS! Congratulations to Sienna Whitington and Nick Hutchins on winning the individual state champion title in their respective weight classes at this year's AIA State Wrestling Tournament. Congratulations! I look forward to celebrating Sienna and Nick with our student body in an upcoming assembly. You can learn how all of our wrestlers did in this year's medal round of the state championship in the Knights in the Spotlight section. In addition, I am thrilled to share that our own ACP equipment tech, Mr. Patrick Sylvestre, was recognized and honored at Saturday's Chandler Sports Hall of Fame ceremony for his countless years of dedication to CUSD and Chandler athletics. It was a wonderful ceremony and a well-deserved honor. We are very fortunate to have Pat on our team! Congratulations, Mr. Sylvestre.
Our robotics students, under the direction of advisor, Lynn Hoang, held a robotics tournament on Saturday and they did a fantastic job. With over 30 schools in attendance, the team coordinated and managed the tournament helping the other teams throughout the day. Job well done. It is nice to be able to see our students lead the way in so many events and activities on our campus. Great work.
As you know, our school's spiritline competed at Nationals this weekend and did an incredible job. The all girls stunt team qualified for finals and finished in 8th place. Great work, ladies. I appreciate the enthusiasm, determination and grit our spiritline members have for their sport, their dedication to one another, and their ability to work through challenges to always perform to the best of their ability. You're awesome! Fantastic job at Nationals.
Congratulations to the members of our boys and girls soccer teams on an absolutely impressive regular season and run in the playoffs. While both teams journey to the state title ended before we hoped, the sportsmanship, teamwork and competitive drive displayed throughout the season was fun to watch. Thank you for representing our school with character. I am very proud of you and your coaches. Great season!
I want to thank our students for their patience as we worked to meet with them to discuss their course selections for the upcoming school year. The counseling team has been diligently working to give the students the time needed to discuss classes and answer questions. These meetings will conclude this week. I recognize it took quite a bit of time to complete this work, but it is important that we meet with every student and have these discussions. As a reminder, no changes to submitted course requests may be made after March 8th. Please join me in thanking our counseling team for the work they are doing to help our students.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and the extra day off too. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you for being a part of our school.

Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
