The River Hawk
Rio Norte News - April 21, 2023
A Note From the Principal
Good Morning River Hawk Families,
Thank you to all of you who came out to Open House on Thursday night. It was a great turn-out and so wonderful to see the excitement in classrooms as our students showed you what they've been working on this year.
Next week students will begin our State CAASPP testing during their English and History classes. Please do all you can to ensure your student gets plenty of sleep each night and a good breakfast before school each morning. CAASPP testing is important to not only show our students' their individual progress, but also demonstrates how well Rio Norte is performing on state standards and expectations and helps us to narrow down and plan our growth areas for the following school year. State testing scores also have a direct impact on our community and housing values, as most families look at schools when determining where they want to live. We want to continue to ensure we're providing the academic rigor our students need and have the most accurate picture of areas we need to work on, too! Please do all you can to make sure your student is here each day through our two-week testing window and refrain from pulling your student out of class during this time. We appreciate your support.
You will not want to miss our Drama Production Class presenting Disney's Peter and the Starcatcher, the little known story to how Peter Pan came to be. This is a fantastic prequel to Peter Pan that you don't want to miss! See the poster below for details.
