Book Selection Criteria
Book club members will read young adult literature or adult literature for teens (also known as crossover fiction). Each book is recommended for high school students and will be previewed by the sponsor and/or co-sponsor. Additionally, one or more of the following review guides/periodicals will be used in the selection process: School Library Journal, goodreads.com, yabookscentral.com, and YALSA http://www.ala.org/yalsa/.
Note: Other guides and blogs that are not listed here may be used.
A member may choose to opt out of a particular month’s selection or choose another book. Members should notify Mrs. Madison or Mrs. Knight if they choose to opt out. Please note that reading is an important freedom, and we expect our student members to respect that freedom by being mature, responsible readers.
