Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration

As you are aware this year it is the Queen's 70th Anniversary of being our monarch - her Platinum Jubilee. To celebrate this we would like to invite the parents in to school on Thursday 26th May. We are holding two events - one for Early Years and one for Years 1 - 6.

Early Years are inviting parents in from 10.30 - 11.30 to share, with their children, in some 'Jubilee' themed activities. Please meet on the yard in front of the Early Years building for 10.30.

Years 1 - 6 are inviting parents in from 2.15, to share afternoon tea and activities. We will provide parents with refreshments too - tea/coffee and cake. Please meet on the yard next to main entrance for 2.15.

We are also asking the children to dress in red, white and blue for the day to add some colour for the day.

We hope you can come and join us to help celebrate this momentous occasion.

Sickness & Diarrhoea

We currently have a large number of children who are suffering with either vomiting or diarrhoea. We are grateful for those of you who have rang in and let us know of cases. We have also sent quite a few home after showing symptoms at school.

It has, however, come to our attention that some children have been sent in to school after showing signs at home. We would welcome you following the school policy, which is in line with NHS guidance of keeping your child off for 2 days. This allows the symptoms to clear and prevent the passing on of the symptoms to others.

Also if you have children who have been asked to stay home for 48 hours, this includes playing out after school. The children need to be isolated from others outside your household to help prevent the spread of the infections.

We have been in touch with Northumberland Public Health for guidance and are awaiting a response.

In the meantime we would appreciate your support in reporting any cases you have with school and following the NHS guidance of keeping the children off school for 48 hours after their last episode.
