You will review the STAR, BALLOON, DRAIN, and PRETZEL breathing activities. Pick one to do for the day after reviewing them.
Commitment for the week: Have your child pick which commitment they would like to try for the day from the list below.

Morning Message
Today's Morning Message:
We build bridges over water.
Write the message , Read the message, Move your hand under each word as you read. Count how many words are in the sentence. Have the child point to the 1st word in the sentence. Have your child find and circle the letter b and w.

Read the story The Three Billy Goats Gruff
- Talk about what an author does(writes the words), what the illustrator does(draw the pictures)
- Where do you start reading? ( top to bottom, left to right)
Predict what you think the story will be about.
Vocabulary to talk about:
setting(where the story takes place)
bridge
meadow(field)
image(picture)
imagination
Draw the setting on a piece of paper. Two meadows with a river in between. Ask your child to describe the bridge that connects the two fields. What is the bridge made of? How big is it? Draw the bridge that your child describes.
Read the story:
Talk about the goats, the size. Talk about the troll. How did the goats outsmart the troll? What happened to the troll at the end of the story?
Literacy
Pick any word and show you child how to clap out the word and count the syllables.
Examples:
hat-clap one time..one syllable
candy-clap two times-two syllables
banana-clap three times..three syllables.
Choose about 5 words that has 1, 2 and 3 syllables.
