Meeting Student Needs
Teachers play a key role in making adjustments to the plan.
Superintendent Mike Daria says TCS must be flexible in the way high expectations are managed.
Now Entering Week 2!
Internal Transfers
The internal transfer window is open until June 26, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. for all TCS employees. The recommendation must be received in the Human Resources Department by 4:30 p.m. June 26, 2020. An employee transferring within the system must have their supervisor's recommendation in their on-line application as part of the process If the employee does not have this recommendation, he/she can't be interviewed.
Item Retrieval
In the coming days, your principal will schedule times for you to access the building to retrieve items necessary for working at home, which may include instructional or personal belongings. The following guidelines should be followed:
- Do not enter a building if you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, has a spouse/child tested positive for COVID-19, feeling ill, or have a fever.
- Do not allow guests, including family members, to enter the building with you;
- Exercise social distancing and limit times to one hour
- Sign log upon entering and leaving;
- Communicate with your principal before taking any board property for E-Learning.
The deadline to enter the building to return for items will be Monday, April 20, 2020, after which time building access will be restricted through the remainder of the school year.
Perseverance in Action
Chances are, in the past few days you've grown as a professional. The growth you've seen in yourself is likely mirrored by what you are seeing in your students. According to Kelly Feith of Woodland Forrest, that's perseverance in action.
" Perseverance looks different for each teacher and each family, but we are strong and I have hope that we will continue to get stronger through this together, as a TCS family."
Perseverance is the topic of the latest blog from The Teacher's Voice.
Workplace Well-Being
- There is no "wrong" in this space. We are all learning, so avoid "right and wrong" thinking. Mistakes mean learning is happening. No one is going to "check a box" for you or your school on doing something "wrong" in distance learning.
- Take a break. If you need a break from the work, take it. We are not good in supporting others if we are not well ourselves. Please communicate schedule adjustments with your building leader and students' families.
- If you are not sure, call. There is so much we are all unsure of at this time. Call a colleague, but please do not be uncertain or alone. Together, and only together, we will move through this storm and come out the other side stronger and better.
