Welcome to Leo R. Croce Elementary

We are so excited to welcome all new and returning students to campus for the 2021-2022 school year. Our teachers, staff members, custodians, and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), have been meeting, planning, and preparing for the arrival of your child/ren.

Many of our families look forward to back to school shopping. Please keep in mind that teachers will be providing your child/ren with the materials needed in the classroom. Backpacks for all students should be large enough to hold a Chromebook, binder, and folders. This does not mean that your child will be toting all three to and from school each day! Just keep in mind the size of the backpack when making your purchase.

Our District's Community Engagement Department has been working closely with Alameda County Health Department. In the next week or so, you can expect to receive important information regarding procedures, protocols, and mandates.

Information regarding drop-off and pick-up procedures will be shared with you next week.

Grade level teams will be releasing general information letters on Friday, August 13th. If you do not receive the letter by 5:00 p.m. that evening, it indicates that we do not have your current or correct email address in our system. One way to rectify that is to complete the registration process through PS Enrollment. More information about that system can be found below. You can also contact Marilyn Burns at

PowerSchool Enrollment Updates

If we have learned anything from the past year, it's that communication between home and school is essential. Throughout the year, our District, teachers, office staff, and PTA will use Blackboard to send emails, phone calls, and text messages. It's imperative that you provide us with your most up to date email address and phone numbers.

Campus Walk Through

Our fabulous PTA is sponsoring their first big event on Thursday, August 19th from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to walk the campus with your child/ren, participate in a scavenger hunt, complete your registration, join PTA, and purchase Croce swag.

Teacher assignments will be sent to your email at 3:00 p.m. so you will know just which classroom to look for!

The gates will also be unlocked on Saturday, August 21 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. to accommodate those who are unable to attend the walk through on Thursday.

Bell Schedule

One significant change this year is to our dismissal time. Other than Wednesdays, all 1st-5th graders will be dismissed at 2:50 p.m. Please make every attempt to schedule appointments, vacations, etc. outside of school hours.

Bedtime Story with Principal Angelo

Please join Mrs. Angelo on Monday, August 23rd at 5:30 p.m. for a Bedtime Story with Principal Angelo. The link to the story will be sent via email and text from Blackboard.
