FOCUS ON READING
Reading is a very important skill that students must master. Our district has a reading initiative called, "Read for a Better Life." We just kicked this off with a day full of reading. We encourage you to read to and with your child at home. It's important to remember that not just reading the words is important, but comprehension of the story is just as important as the ability to read. When you are listening to your child read, stop them periodically and ask them questions like:
*Who is the story about?
*What is the setting?
*What is the conflict in the story?
*What genre is this book?
*What would you "stop and jot" about this book?
STORYBOOK CHARACTER DAY/EARLY DISMISSAL
We will be doing celebrating Storybook Character Day on this same day. Students are invited to dress up as their favorite storybook character. Props and face covering are not allowed so please plan costume accordingly. We will have our Storybook Parade at 9:00 a.m. This is always a fun day for our students and we look forward to seeing which character they choose to be.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
FREE/REDUCED LUNCHES
ATTENDANCE
Official attendance time is 9:00 a.m. If your child arrives after 9, he/she will be counted absent for the day. Tardy time this school year is 8:01 a.m. If your child arrives after 8:01, the parent needs to walk the child into the front office and sign the child into school.
Thank you for help with these matters!
