Parent Input 2022-2023 School Year
It is time for us to start planning ahead for next year. At the end of May, the staff at Pembroke will begin the important process of compiling individual student data in preparation for optimum 2022-2023 class placement for each and every Pembroke student. As your child’s primary educators, we take this responsibility very seriously. The final design and makeup of each classroom involves many hours of careful review and thoughtful discussions between your child’s current teacher, building specialists and myself. We consider academic, social and emotional data to create the design of each classroom. Such factors include the:
- Balance of academic performances
- Balance of behaviors
- Balance of gender (male/female)
- Balance of cultures
- Balance of special needs
Our goal is to ensure that every Pembroke student is placed in a positive learning environment where he/she will function to the best of his/her abilities during the 2022-2023 school year. It is your child’s current teacher who is in the best position to understand and evaluate your child’s personal learning style, peer interactions and individualized classroom needs.
Therefore, we ask that you respect our policy of not accepting verbal or written requests for specific teachers and/or specific friends.
If you do, however, have any specific information in terms of learning style, environment and/or your child’s personality that you feel would be important for us to take into account, I invite you to contact me in writing, by letter or email, no later than May 16th, as we begin placement the following week.
